About the Bill
The key purposes of the Bill, on introduction, were to equip people in Wales with the necessary financial knowledge and capability they need to manage their financial circumstances effectively. In doing so, the proposals would have helped to increase prosperity in Wales by improving the financial education and capability of its citizens. The Bill‘s proposals fell into three broad categories:

The debate on the General Principles took place on 26 November 2014. The motion to agree the General Principles was withdrawn by the Member in Charge and therefore no decision on the general Principles has been taken.
