Bethan enjoys swimming and going to the gym, as well as watching football and rugby league. She also enjoys music and plays the viola.


Professional background


Bethan is a former president of Aberystwyth’s Guild of Students and member of the Welsh Language Society’s Senate.


Political history


After she was elected to the National Assembly for Wales in 2007, Bethan sat on the Petitions Committee, the Public Accounts Committee (formerly Audit Committee) and the Communities and Culture Committee. She was also Plaid Cymru’s spokesperson on child poverty and cultural issues.


Bethan’s political interests include economic development, international affairs, women’s rights, asylum matters, the safeguarding of local services and eating disorder provision in Wales.
