Draft Local Government (Wales) Bill

In November 2015 the Welsh Government published the draft Local Government (Wales) Bill for consultation. The government consulted on the draft Bill with a view to bringing forward the Bill during the 5th Assembly. The Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee undertook pre-legislative scrutiny of the Bill.

 

The terms of reference for the Committee’s pre-legislative scrutiny were:

 

To consider the draft Bill and accompanying documents, including the Explanatory Memorandum and the Regulatory Impact Assessment (which assesses the potential costs and benefits of the policy intentions included in the draft Bill).

 

Evidence

The Committee issued a call for evidence, which closed on Thursday 21 January 2016.
