The Climate Change, Environment, and Infrastructure Committee (“the Committee”) agreed to undertake an inquiry into bus and rail transport in Wales.

 

The Committee considered:

>>>Priorities for post covid recovery for Welsh bus and rail;

>>>The action required to achieve Welsh Government targets for modal shift to these modes, and behaviour change; and

>>>Views on proposals for bus and rail reform – including UK Government plans to reform the rail industry, and Welsh Governments plans for regulation of bus services / the Bus White Paper.

Evidence Gathering

 

The Committee held oral evidence sessions with stakeholders on Thursday 26 May 2022.

 

The Citizens Engagement Team conducted a series of five focus groups and six one-to-one interviews between 21 March and 21 April. This paper (PDF 217KB) summarises the findings of those interviews.
