Public Transport

The  Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committee (“the Committee”) will be holding a stakeholder event on Thursday 17 March to hear from passenger representative groups and others about bus and rail services in Wales.

The Committee is interested in:

>>>>

>>> What you think about the current state of Welsh bus and rail services and the impact the pandemic has had;

>>> What the priorities should be for post-covid recovery for Welsh bus and rail, and how passengers can be encouraged to return to ensure the Welsh Government hits its modal shift and climate change targets; and

>>> What you think about planned bus and rail reform – including UK Government plans to reform the rail industry, and Welsh Governments plans for regulation of bus services and the forthcoming Welsh Buses Bill.

<<<<

These discussions will inform the Committee’s scrutiny of Transport for Wales and its scrutiny of public transport policies, and the Bus Bill in due course.

Alongside this, the Committee will be undertaking further public engagement work to explore the experiences and views of public transport users across Wales.
