Questions to the Minister for Social Justice

Questions to the Minister for Social Justice

Members of the Senedd (MSs) may ask Oral Questions to Ministers about any matter falling within their areas of responsibility.

Ministers answer questions once every four weeks that the Senedd meets in Plenary, according to a schedule set by the Government.

The Table Office conducts a ballot to determine the names of Members who may table questions. Any Member may enter their name into a ballot.

The Members selected must table their oral question at least five days before the question is due to be answered. A computer randomly selects the order in which the questions are to be asked in Plenary, and the questions, as ordered, are then published on the Record site. The answers to the questions are also published on the site within 24 hours of them being asked.

Opposition group spokespeople may ask questions without notice to a Minister during their scheduled question time, usually after question 2.
