Inquiry into the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak, and its management, on health and social care in Wales - Fifth Senedd

Inquiry5

The Health, Social Care and Sport Committee – Y Bumed Senedd undertook an inquiry into the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak, and its management, on health and social care in Wales between March 2020 and April 2021.

The inquiry considered the impact of the outbreak, and its management, on health and social care services in Wales. As part of this, the Committee examined the response by the Welsh Government and relevant public bodies, as well as considering the impact on staff, patients and others receiving care or treatment in both clinical settings and the community. It also considered the Wales response in the wider, UK context.

As part of its work on mental health inequalities, the Sixth Senedd Health and Social Care Committee wrote to the Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing on 11 July 2022 to seek an update on the Fifth Senedd Committee’s recommendations. The Ministers responded on 31 January 2023.
