Legislative Consent: European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill

Legislative Consent: European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill

The European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill (the Bill) was introduced in the House of Commons on 19 December 2019.

The Bill was subject to the legislative consent process under Standing Order 29. This is when the consent of the National Assembly for Wales is sought by the UK Government to legislate on an issue which could normally fall within the competence of the Assembly.

The Welsh Government laid a Legislative Consent Memorandum (LCM) on the Bill before the National Assembly on 6 January 2020.

The Business Committee referred the LCM to the External Affairs and Additional Legislation, and Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committees, with a reporting deadline of Friday 17 January 2020.
