Proposed Order in Council - The Government of Wales Act 2006 (Amendment) Order 2019

Section 109 of the Government of Wales Act 2006 (the 2006 Act) allows Her Majesty, by Order in Council, to amend Schedule 7 to the 2006 Act, provided that a draft of the Order has first been approved by the Assembly and both Houses of Parliament.

The proposed Order was laid before the National Assembly on 16 July 2019. The Business Committee referred the proposed Order to the Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee for detailed consideration. The Committee published its report on 30 September 2019.

Following the Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee’s scrutiny of the proposed Order, the draft Order and Explanatory Memorandum were laid in the Table Office on 16 October 2019. The Senedd approved the draft Order in Plenary on 6 November 2019.
