The Committee heard evidence from the WLGA.

 

The WLGA agreed to provide the Committee with the following:

 

·         Data from Local Authorities on teachers’ absences and the use of supply teachers;

·         Feedback which has been received from Local Authorities who have preferred providers;

·         Information on what performance management mechanisms local authorities have in place in relation to supply teachers;

·         Information on Framework Agreements which Local Authorities have with Agencies re CPD and training;

·         Confirm date the new Framework will commence from and end and whether Local Authorities will be committed to the new Framework;

·         Send Wrexham Council’s best practice policy provided to schools on supply teaching;

·         Provide Committee with the latest National model document;

·         Update Committee following discussions with Regional Consortia on the discipline procedures used by supply agencies.
