1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting of the Children, Young People and Education Committee.

2 Pupil absence - evidence session 4
2.1 The Committee heard evidence from the
teaching unions.
3 Pupil absence - evidence session 5
3.1 The Committee heard evidence from Estyn.
3.2 Estyn agreed to provide the Committee with
examples of good practice in schools of the support given to
different groups of learners who have been affected by general and
persistent absence.

4.1 The Committee heard evidence from
Professor Ann John.

5.1 The papers were noted.
6 Motion under Standing Order 17.42(ix) to resolve to exclude the public from the remainder of this meeting
