Simon Thomas lives in Aberystwyth with his wife and two children.
He worked as a librarian before working as a researcher for Taff-Ely Borough Council. He also worked as an anti-poverty worker and a Rural Development Manager for Jigso.
Simon was elected to the House of Commons as MP for Ceredigion in both 2000 and 2001 where he joined the Environmental Audit Committee.
After losing his seat he became a development manager for Technium in Pembrokeshire and was then the senior special advisor to the Welsh Government, advising the Deputy First Minister and other Plaid Cymru Ministers.
Simon’s political interests are the environment, food and rural affairs, transport, international development, energy, and culture, media and sport.
