The National Assembly for Wales’ committees are responsible for scrutinising the Welsh Government about its policy, legislation, expenditure and administration. A key way they do this is through undertaking inquiries. After gathering evidence, a committee usually reports on its findings, making recommendations to the Welsh Government on improvements that can be made. The Welsh Government responds to these recommendations. The committee’s report and the Welsh Government’s response are often the subject of a debate in Plenary.
