Independent Living Fund

The Welsh Government issued a consultation on 3 October 2014 to seek views on the options for future arrangements to support recipients of the Independent Living Fund in Wales when the fund was closed by the UK Government on 30 June 2015. The consultation closed on 23 December 2014. More information about the Welsh Government’s consultation is available on its website. The National Assembly for Wales’ Health and Social Care Committee received a factual briefing from Welsh Government officials on the consultation on 21 January 2015. 

Evidence gathering

The Committee considered the joint response of the Welsh Local Government Association and the Association of Directors for Social Services (PDF, 238 KB) to the Welsh Government’s consultation.

During the Committee’s meeting on 21 January, Welsh Government officials agreed to provide the Committee with additional information. The Committee received a response (PDF, 46 KB) from Welsh Government officials on 29 January 2015.

The Committee’s letter

The Committee wrote (PDF, 235 KB) to the Minister for Health and Social Services on 6 February 2015. The Committee received a response (PDF, 121 KB) to its letter in March 2015.
