Evidence submitted in response to this Consultation
The Committees of the National Assembly are seeking information to inform their scrutiny of the Welsh Government’s 2017-18 draft budget proposals, which are due to be published in October 2016. We are interested in exploring financial readiness for the 2017-18 year and the impact of the 2016-17 budget.
The Finance Committee looks at the Welsh Government’s budget from a strategic, overarching perspective. We also work with the other Assembly Committees to ensure that proposals for specific Ministerial portfolios are considered in detail. Committees will each undertake their own focussed evidence sessions with the relevant Cabinet Secretaries and Ministers in order to examine the areas of the budget that fall within their respective remits, and then report to Finance Committee, detailing any concerns they have.
We would like your views on the specific questions included in the consultation letter (PDF, 85KB), and you may respond to any or all of these in the following ways:
You are also welcome to let us know in general terms of your views in relation to the draft budget.
Following the publication of the draft budget in October 2016 we intend to run a conversation on its proposals. If you’d like to take part please let us know in your response.
The Committee welcomes contributions in English or Welsh, and we ask organisations with Welsh Language policies/schemes to provide bilingual responses, where applicable, in line with their public information policies.
