Consultation

Resilience and preparedness: the Welsh Government’s administrative and financial response to Brexit

Purpose of the consultation

The External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee has agreed to look at how the public sector and businesses in Wales are preparing for Brexit.

Terms of reference

The purpose of the inquiry is to examine:

  • the Welsh Government’s internal administrative and financial response to Brexit; and
  • how the Welsh Government is supporting public services, higher education, third sector and economic sectors to prepare for exiting the European Union.

Evidence gathering

To inform the inquiry, the Committee has issued a call for evidence. In addition to the terms of reference, respondents are invited to consider the following questions:

  • What are the main issues facing your sector as a result of the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, and how should the Welsh Government respond to these?
  • What advice, support, or assistance have you received from the Welsh Government to date in preparation for Brexit?
  • What financial considerations have arisen as a result of UK’s withdrawal from the European Union and what should be done to prepare for these?
  • What advice or support would you like to see from the Welsh Government that will help you and your sector to prepare for Brexit?

The deadline for submissions is 10.00 on Friday, 3 November 2017.

Providing Written Evidence

The National Assembly for Wales has two official languages, Welsh and English.

In line with the Assembly’s Official Languages Scheme, the Committee requests that documents or written responses to consultations intended for publication or use in National Assembly proceedings are submitted bilingually. When documents or written responses are not submitted bilingually, we will publish in the language submitted, stating that it has been received in that language only.

We expect other organisations to implement their own standards or schemes and to comply with their statutory obligation.

Please see guidance for those providing evidence for committees.
