Description: Rare Disease Day is an annual event which provides the rare disease community across the world with an opportunity to increase awareness of rare diseases and highlight the issues affecting patients and families as a public health priority to government. Since 2009, Rare Disease UK (a campaign led by the charity Genetic Alliance UK), the national alliance for people with rare diseases and all who support them, has coordinated awareness raising parliamentary events throughout the UK. The 14th international Rare Disease Day will take place on 28 February 2020. In order to mark the day and raise the profile of rare diseases amongst Assembly Members and government, Rare Disease UK will be holding a reception at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay.

Open to the public: The event will take place outside our normal opening hours therefore attendance will be by invitation only
