EVENT: Searching for space - the place of towns in Welsh public policy

Date: Tuesday 17 April 2018

Time: 11.30 - 13.30

Location: Pierhead

Description: As the home to a significant number of citizens, businesses, and service providers, towns are particularly important places across Wales. However, research undertaken by the Carnegie UK Trust finds that while there are well-developed policies designed to progress cities and rural hinterlands, and often powerful groups working on their behalf, towns are a neglected area of public policy. This event by the Carnegie UK Trust, sponsored by Vikki Howells AM, will explore the current opportunities for Welsh towns, provided notably by the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, and the challenges, such as changes to employment and an ageing population, which will require shifts away from traditional ways of working to overcome.

Open to the public: Attendance at the event is by invitation only however the Senedd and the Pierhead will remain accessible to the public during our normal opening hours.
