EVENT: Samaritans Cymru 2015/16 Impact Report Launch

Description: Samaritans exist to reduce the number of people who die by suicide. In Wales, Samaritans work locally and nationally to raise awareness of their emotional support service and reach out to communities who are struggling to cope. They work in partnership with schools, prisons, NHS Wales and the Rail Industry. Through political engagement and collaboration, they seek to use their expertise to influence policy and legislation surrounding suicide prevention. They are members of the National Advisory Group to Welsh Government on Suicide and Self harm prevention and were active contributors to the Suicide and Self Harm strategy for Wales (2015-2020), ‘Talk to Me 2’.This World Mental Health Day, Samaritans Cymru will be launching their 2015/16 Impact Report with the support of John Griffiths AM. The event will be a chance to find out more about suicide prevention in Wales and the range of projects and policy areas Samaritans Cymru work in.

Open to the public: Attendance at the event is by invitation only however the Senedd and the Pierhead will remain accessible to the public during our normal opening hours
