Information about Petitions Committee - Fourth Assembly

This committee from the Fourth Assembly has been dissolved. New committees will be formed during the Fifth Assembly

The Petitions Committee was established on 15 June 2011. Its role was to consider all admissible petitions that were submitted by the public. Petitions had to be about issues that the National Assembly had powers to take action on. The petitions process enabled the public to highlight issues and directly influence the work of the National Assembly. Its specific functions are set out in Standing Order 23.
