*Conscious of the significant amount of work underway in this area, the Committee did not wish to overburden stakeholders with further consultation to inform this session. However, stakeholders were informed that they were welcome to share views on progress if they so wishes. Two papers were received:

3.1 The Committee scrutinised the Minister for Health and Social Services.

3.2 The Minister for Health and Social Services agreed to provide the following:

  • A summary of the NHS Delivery Unit Capacity Review Report including all individual Health board reports and the report that the interim improvement plans are based on. 
  • Management data on neurodevelopmental services.
  • An update on the broader work, including the role of other agencies, for children and young people with extremely complex needs who are being placed in hospitals in England.
  • A note on the progress being made on the emotional and mental health of Looked after children (Recommendation 23 of Mind over Matter).
