Minutes:

1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting of the Children, Young People and Education Committee.

1.2 There were no apologies.

1.3 Under Standing Order 17.24A Sioned Williams MS declared her husband was employed by Swansea University.

Committee activities - oral update

Minutes:

3.1 Members provided oral updates on Committee activities that they had undertaken during the term. The Committee had undertaken engagement work for its inquiry into Mental Health support in Higher Education Institutions and for Care experienced children.

3.2 There was an update from Sioned Williams MS on the joint piece of work with the Culture, Communications, Welsh Language, Sport and International Relations Committee on WESPs.

3.3 There were updates from Members on meeting that has taken place outside of Committee:

- Girls’ Youth Rights Network

- Beat Cymru

- Home educators

- Update on bi- monthly ministerial meetings

- Meeting with young person and her Caerphilly Family Intervention Team project worker 

- NUS Cymru

Scrutiny session with Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing - consideration of the evidence

Minutes:

6.1 The Committee considered the evidence it had heard in the previous session.

6.2 The Committee agreed to write to the Deputy Minister for further information on some of the issues raised.

6.3 The Committee agreed to feedback to the young people who submitted questions and to keep them updated.
