Agenda and minutes

1.1        The Chair welcomed Members to the first virtual meeting of the Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee.  

1.2        In accordance with Standing Order 34.19, the Chair stated that she had determined that the public were excluded from the Committee’s meeting in order to protect public health. 

1.3        The Chair stated that if for any reason she dropped out of the meeting, the Committee agreed that David Melding MS would become Temporary Chair in accordance with Standing Order 17.22. 

1.4        There were no apologies or declarations of interest.

2.1 Members questioned the Deputy Minister and his officials about Covid-19 and its impact on areas within the Committee’s remit, and his department’s response to date to the pandemic. 

The Committee noted the following papers:     

Members agreed to write to the Director of BBC Nations and Regions to clarify that BBC Wales is not a local broadcaster.

Members agreed to write to the Welsh Government about the issues raised in the letter from the Wales Community Radio Network. 

Members agreed to write to the Welsh Government about the issues raised in the letter from Media Wales.

Members noted the paper.
