Business Managers noted the addition of a statement by the Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs on Sustainable Farming and our Land to Tuesday’s business.

The Trefnydd informed Business Managers that the statement by the Minister for Health and Social Services: A Healthier Wales – One Year On will be issued as a written statement.

Minutes:

Business Committee determined the organisation of Assembly business and agreed to schedule the following items of business:

 

Wednesday 17 July 2019 –

 

·         Statement by the Chair of the External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee: Brexit Priorities (30 mins)

 

Wednesday 25 September 2019 –

 

·         Debate on the Equality, Local Government and Communities Committee report: Voting Rights for Prisoners (60 mins)

·         Debate on the Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee report: Supporting and Promoting the Welsh Language (60 mins)

·         Time allocated to the Brexit Party (60 mins)

Letter from the Chair of the External Affairs and Additional Legislation Committee to the Llywydd

Minutes:

Business Managers discussed the letter and noted that there is now a government statement on Brexit scheduled for 16 July. They agreed to schedule a Chair’s statement on 17 July, subject to confirmation from the Committee that they still wished to go ahead, in light of the recently added government statement.

The Trefnydd informed Business Managers that she has written to the Finance Committee to inform them of the intended budget timetable, and will now write to all other Committees.

 

Business Managers agreed to consult the Finance Committee, in accordance with Standing Orders, and return to the matter at their first meeting in September.

Proposals for Consolidation Bills

Minutes:

Business Managers considered the draft Standing Order and agreed to return to it in the autumn, after discussion with their groups. They also agreed to write to Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee to consult them on the proposals.

Business Managers discussed the letter and agreed to wait for responses from External Affairs and Additional Legislation and Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committees before considering further.
