Regrets that a number of hospitals in Wales have been closed or subject to a
loss of services in recent years; and 2.
Calls on the future Welsh Government to guarantee that there will be no
hospital closures during the fifth Assembly. The

substantial increase in the number of doctors so that services can be delivered

Regrets that Wales has one of the lowest survival rates for cancer in the UK
and EU; 2.
Notes waiting times for diagnostic tests are unacceptably high and considerably
higher than England and Scotland; 3.
Regrets the inequality of access to cancer drugs and treatments for patients
across Wales; and 4.
Calls on the next Welsh Government to: a)
substantially improve performance on diagnostic waiting times, so that 95 per
cent of people suspected of having cancer by a GP can receive a diagnosis or
the all clear within 28 days of referral for testing; b)
introduce a new treatments fund to ensure a national approach to access to
treatments to ensure access to treatments based on clinical need not where a
patient lives or whether they meet exceptionality criteria; and c)
ensure all cancer patients have access to a key worker, with the regular
collection and publication of data to demonstrate performance against this
target. The
following amendments have been tabled: Amendment 1
