Legislative Consent Motion on the Medical Innovation Bill NDM5680 Mark Drakeford
(Cardiff West) To propose that the
National Assembly for Wales, in accordance with Standing Order 29.6 agrees that
provisions in the Medical Innovation Bill, relating to treatment and alleviation
of disease, illness, injury, disability and mental disorder; provision of
health services; clinical governance and standards of health care in so far as
they fall within the legislative competence of the National Assembly for Wales,
should be considered by the UK Parliament. A Legislative Consent
Memorandum has been laid in Table Office on 10 December 2014 in accordance with
Standing Order 29.2(ii). The Bill can be found

Debate: The Review of Independent Living Adaptations NDM5682 Jane Hutt (Vale
of Glamorgan) To propose that the
National Assembly for Wales: 1. Acknowledges the
importance of adaptations services and how they help people to continue living
independently in their own home for as long as possible. 2. Notes the findings of
the Review of Independent Living Adaptations, which was published on 23rd
January 2015. 3. Supports action by
the Welsh Government to enhance the help available to people in need of adapted

The
following amendments have been tabled: Amendment
1 - Paul Davies (Preseli Pembrokeshire) Delete Point 3 and
replace with: Calls on the Welsh
Government to: a) ensure that local
authorities work with social landlords to produce a customer charter setting
out commitments in relation to adaptation services; b) work with local
authorities and social housing providers to set out delivery time standards and
ensure that they are met by all local authorities; c) audit adaptation
services to identify best practice and its implementation; and d) put in place
mechanisms to monitor customer satisfaction and longer-term outcomes. Amendment
2 - Elin Jones (Ceredigion) Add as new point at end
of motion: Believes means testing
for adaptations is inequitable and outdated. Amendment
3 – Paul Davies (Preseli Pembrokeshire) Add new point at the end
of the motion: Notes the key
recommendations of the Leonard Cheshire Disability Home Truths campaign and No
