Debate: The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:
1. Notes the UK Government’s European Union
(Withdrawal) Bill.
2. Believes:
a) it is wholly unacceptable in its current form;
and
b) all necessary steps must be taken to protect the
interests of Wales and the constitutional position and powers of the National
Assembly, including the publication of a continuity bill.

The following amendments were tabled:
Amendment 1. Neil
Hamilton (Mid and West Wales)
Delete
point 2 and replace with:
Believes
that the UK Government's European Union (Withdrawal) Bill proves no threat to
the current devolution settlement.
[If amendment 1 is agreed,
amendment 2 will be de-selected]
Amendment 2. Paul
Davies (Preseli Pembrokeshire)
Delete
point 2 and replace with:
Recognises
that the parliaments and assemblies of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are
part of the modern democratic settlement of the United Kingdom and should be
fully engaged with the future makeup of a vibrant UK post-Brexit.
