The Committee considered correspondence from the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee and agreed to await that Committee’s report on hospital catering and patient nutrition, and to seek the views of the petitioner at that point.

The Committee considered correspondence from the Auditor General for Wales and agreed to ask the Public Accounts Committee to take the petition into account as part of its planned inquiry into hospital catering and patient nutrition and feed back its findings and any recommendations to the Committee in due course.

The Committee considered correspondence from the then Minister for Health and Social Services and also from Local Health Boards and agreed to forward the information received so far to the Auditor General, and to ask him for an update on work he is currently undertaking around the provision of food in Welsh hospitals.
