You must include the diagnostic criteria on the DSM-5, I do not agree that any neurodevelopmental disorder is the same and cannot be treated the same even though presentations may be similar

The autism Act is the only specific act aimed at autism. The equality act covers other conditions and there is other legislation in place.

I think that you should include Education , LAs, Health and Care under the strategy-as each organisation has a duty to support people with autism.

Under the GDPR you would have to consult on information being collected. It is my findings that no information is currently collected by organisations. If it is it is sporadic for instance the CJS do not collect such information.

I do not have autism however I am headteacher at an independent school for young people with autism. My dissertation was on  the CJS response to young people on the spectrum in a London Youth offending unit and my findings were crucial in establishing a more formal way that young offenders with autism are being treated, the act can only help and make clear to people what their entitlement is. It should be fair to those in Wales as well.

It is important that people with autism have a voice, this draft bill ensures that we are listening to that voice and acting on behalf of those who cannot speak up.
